FREE FLIGHT 2003 At this years a Free Flight the weather was an absolute novelty |

Normally,
the weather was stormy during this fair and there were snow flurries,
but this year there were three days of brilliant sunshine. On Friday,
it was rather windy, but on Saturday and Sunday there were clusters of paragliders
above Mount Wank and Mount Osterfelder. Quite a number of regulars at the
fair had never seen them before

Mad Mike had a lot of fun during his daily helicopter jumps above the exhibition site. Mike usually hangs from the helicopter for his jumps, but he was not allowed to do this this time. So an assistant was in charge of the packsack inside the helicopter and Mike climbed out on to one of the skids before he did his backward jump. This was another special kick for Mike.
The
glider opened without any troubles each time he jumped. Mike
ignited a smoke cartridge and performed his AcroShow above the exhibition
site. Because of favourable winds he was able to touch down in front of
the spectators in the morning, but in the afternoon he landed flying
backwards looking over his shoulder.
The Free Flight Film Award was an exiting attraction the second time running. Mikes www.madmikekueng.com was awarded a special prize for Best Promotion Site". Thanks and congratulations to our webmaster, Frank Arendt.

Report
about Free Flight on B-TV
Free
Style Magazine on B-TV gave viewers a chance to watch 26 minutes of Free
Flight. Günter Daubermanns report about the exhibition was most
informative, and he showed spectacular pictures of Mad Mikes helicopter
jumps. You didnt catch it on TV? Never mind ! You can see the
report on the Internet.
